In 2011, Four Season’s Hospice and Palliative Care of Flat Rock, North Carolina and Palliative Care Association of Zambia, Africa (PCAZ), formed a partnership to learn and support one another.
This past April, Alan Baumgarten along with a team from Four Seasons, participated in the 2013 Zambia medical mission and together they learned from doctors, community care givers and PCAZ educators, about the country-wide focus to integrate palliative care. Additionally, the medical team performed over 1,000 cervical cancer screenings, which are aligned with the preventive health measures encouraged by PCAZ.
