2023 Drive-through Flu Shot Clinics

The CDC recommends a yearly flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protecting against flu viruses. All persons 6 months and older, with rare exceptions, should get a flu vaccine.

The Family Health Centers’ drive-through flu shot Clinics are open from September 18 to October 28, 2023. The clinics are offered BY APPOINTMENT ONLY at the following times:

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM – all locations
  • Saturdays 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM – Downtown Asheville location only

Flu Vaccine Reminder

Established patients may also request to receive the flu vaccine when visiting The Family Health Centers for an unrelated appointment or lab work. Please note that walk-in flu vaccines are not available until Oct. 30, 2023.

Should reformulated COVID-19 boosters and/or RSV vaccines become available before October 30, Saturday vaccine clinics will be moved inside the building where patients may schedule appointments to receive all three vaccines. The Family Health Centers will carry COVID-19 booster shots and RSV vaccines as soon as they become available.

Insurance coverage: The flu shot is fully covered by most commercial insurance plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid.

On your appointment date: Please arrive a few minutes early. You will not need to leave your vehicle. Follow the signs and cones. Due to a recent spike in COVID-19 cases, we require that you wear a mask when approached to check in, and when receiving the flu vaccine. The drive-through vaccine process should take no more than 15 minutes. To ensure staff safety, please do not bring dogs to flu shot clinic appointments.

We encourage you and your loved ones to receive the flu vaccine this season. Please call (828) 258-8681, option 1, to schedule a time to receive the flu shot at an upcoming drive-through clinic, or, request the vaccine at an upcoming scheduled appointment.
