2024 Drive-through Flu, COVID-19 and RSV Vaccine Clinics

  • Oct. 1, 2024 UPDATE: All office locations of The Family Health Centers will be closed until further notice due to the challenging conditions created by Tropical Cyclone Helene.

  • October drive-through Flu, COVID-19 and RSV vaccine clinics are postponed pending reopening of the practice.

The CDC recommends a yearly flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protecting against flu viruses. All persons 6 months and older, with rare exceptions, should get a flu vaccine.

The Family Health Centers’ drive-through Flu shot Clinics are open from September 17 to October 19, 2024. The clinics are offered BY APPOINTMENT ONLY at the following times:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM – Downtown Asheville & Hominy Valley ONLY. Flu vaccine only.
  • Saturdays 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM – Downtown Asheville location ONLY – Flu, Covid-19 and RSV vaccines available during this time.
  • Please note that patients are asked to wait 15 minutes for observation following a Covid-19 vaccine.

The clinics are “mask optional” unless the patient has respiratory illness symptoms. Masks are required in the office Respiratory Clinic. To ensure staff safety, please mask if you are ill, and please do not bring pets to the drive-through vaccine clinics.

Established patients may also request to receive the Flu vaccine when visiting The Family Health Centers for an unrelated appointment or lab work. Please note that walk-in Flu vaccines will be available starting Oct. 21, 2024.

Insurance coverage: The Flu shot is fully covered by most commercial insurance plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid.

On your appointment date: Please arrive a few minutes early. You will not need to leave your vehicle. Follow the signs and cones. The drive-through vaccine process should take no more than 15 minutes.
